Baseball Recap: Franklin County Find Success

Franklin County proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 15) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Destin Sharks.

Kayden Drake was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Allen, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Franklin County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. Destin is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin County will take on Liberty County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Franklin County's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Destin, they will face off against North Bay Haven Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Destin's pitchers better be ready for this one: North Bay Haven Academy has averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
