Softball Recap: Silver Takes Down Ranked Farmington

Silver faced Farmington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Silver came out on top against Farmington by a score of 8-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-2 two weeks ago.

Ariel Alvarado spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits.

At the plate, Sophia Nemeth was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Brailyn Lopez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Silver's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Farmington, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3-1.

Silver wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-5 win against Piedra Vista on the 21st. As for Farmington, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-0 victory against Valencia on the 21st.
