Softball Recap: Innovation Drops Highest Score of Season Against Liberty

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Innovation). Everything went their way against the Liberty Chargers on Thursday as Innovation made off with a 23-8 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulls, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

Innovation is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Innovation will take on Boone in a tournament on Monday. Innovation's pitchers better be ready for this one: Boone has averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Liberty, they will square off against Tohopekaliga at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
