Allen has gone 9-1 against McKinney Boyd recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Allen Eagles will head out on the road to take on the McKinney Boyd Broncos at 7:15 p.m. Allen has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Allen had taken Prosper down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. Allen lost 12-4 to Prosper. Allen has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ady Fincanon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 12 contests.
Meanwhile, McKinney Boyd had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 13-3 win. The game was the first time the Broncos have beaten the Lions on their field since April 20, 2021.
Madison Treadwell spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, McKinney Boyd got a massive performance out of Olivia Locke, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Brayden Smith, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
McKinney Boyd kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
McKinney Boyd's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Allen, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12-1.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Allen hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. However, it's not like McKinney Boyd struggles in that department as they've averaged .361. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Allen beat McKinney Boyd 7-4 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Allen since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
