Basketball Game Preview: Poultney Blue Devils vs. Twin Valley Wildcats

The Poultney Blue Devils will venture away from home to challenge the Twin Valley Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Poultney took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 74-37 win over Leland & Gray. That 37 point margin sets a new team best for the Blue Devils this season.

Meanwhile, Twin Valley came tearing into last Saturday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points) and they left with even more momentum. They pulled ahead with a 58-57 photo finish over the Cosmos.

Poultney better focus on containing Brian Sullivan and Brayden Brown as the pair were huge in Twin Valley's win. Sullivan dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Brown posted 22 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The contest was Brown's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Steve Oyer was another key player, putting up two points along with nine rebounds and five assists.

Poultney's record now sits at 3-5. As for Twin Valley, their record is now 4-1.

Poultney suffered a grim 63-39 defeat to Twin Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Brown, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 13 boards.
