Basketball Recap: Palm Beach Lakes Comes Up Short

Palm Beach Lakes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 64-47 bruising from the Suncoast Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Chargers are ranked 119th).

Walter Brinkley had a dynamite game for Suncoast, going 9 of 12 en route to 24 points. The dominant performance gave Brinkley a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamarey Harris, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine assists.

Palm Beach Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Suncoast, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palm Beach Lakes will host Centennial at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Centennial is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.7 points per game this season. As for Suncoast, they will square off against Santaluces at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Suncoast also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 55.9 points per game.
