Sandhills/Thedford waltzed into their match on Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Mullen Broncos. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Sandhills/Thedford never let Mullen on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-17, 27-25.

Emma Ray paced Sandhills/Thedford's offense, picking up 11 kills. Ray got some help from Grace Johnston and her 15 assists. Laney Dahlberg controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Sandhills/Thedford's win bumped their record up to 18-3. As for Mullen, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season.

Sandhills/Thedford will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Anselmo-Merna on the 21st. As for Mullen, they will challenge Ainsworth at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
