Basketball Recap: Vernon Takes a Loss

Vernon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the City View Mustangs 61-24. The Lions lost against the Mustangs in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 53-43 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Vernon lost, don't look at Key'Maria Mcbride. Despite the final result, she posted 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for City View, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Vernon will head out to challenge Holliday at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Vernon is facing Holliday at the right time seeing as Holliday is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for City View, they will host Henrietta at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. One thing working in City View's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
