Baseball Recap: Perry County Comes Up Short

Perry County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 on Tuesday.

Ryan Marrs was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lance Hurlbut, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Perry County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Perry County will take on Santa Fe at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central, they will head out to face off against Union City at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
