Southside came tearing into Wednesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the West End Patriots get on the board and left with a 7-0 win.

Southside's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for West End, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southside will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Clair County at 4:30 p.m. on March 31st. As for West End, they will face off against Susan Moore at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. West End's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Susan Moore's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
