Recap: Winter Park Wildcats vs. Mount Dora Hurricanes
The Winter Park Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Mount Dora 56-7 at home. That 56-7 margin sets a new team best for Winter Park this season.
Winter Park's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maliyah Lockhart, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Sam Childs, who scored nine points along with seven assists and three steals.
Winter Park's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. As for Mount Dora, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Winter Park will head out on the road to face off against Lake Brantley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Lake Brantley is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. Mount Dora won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Santa Fe at 6:30 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully Santa Fe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Wednesday.
