Elkhorn Valley put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by the Plainview Pirates to the tune of 63-16. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-5.

It was another big night for Jj Black, who went 7 of 14 en route to 17 points in addition to six boards and four steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Rutjens, who went 5 for 7 on her way to 12 points and four steals.

Elkhorn Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Elkhorn Valley's win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-0. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.7 points per game. As for Plainview, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.

Elkhorn Valley will be playing at home against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Elkhorn Valley's defense has only allowed 26.8 points per game this season, so Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Plainview, they will square off against Lutheran-Northeast at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Plainview is facing Lutheran-Northeast at the right time seeing as Lutheran-Northeast is stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
