Basketball Recap: Stryker Gill Key Part of Team Effort in Jets Win

Hauser hadn't done well against Indian Creek recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Hauser Jets secured a 72-67 W over the Indian Creek Braves. For the Jets, this counts as revenge for the 59-51 win the Braves walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Hauser's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Stryker Gill led the charge by going 7-for-13 to rack up 23 points. Those 23 points gave Gill a new career-high. Taeshaun Tungate was another key player, going 6-for-9 on his way to 15 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.

Indian Creek's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Sichting, who went 6-for-12 en route to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Martin, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 14 points and six boards.

Hauser is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points over those games. As for Indian Creek, they dropped their record down to 8-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Hauser didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 80-41 victory against Indiana Math & Science Academy North on the 11th. As for Indian Creek, they have also already played their next game, an 87-48 win against Speedway on the 14th.
