Basketball Recap: Tarkington Piles Up the Points Against Shepherd

A well-balanced attack led Tarkington over Shepherd in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Tarkington Longhorns blew the Shepherd Pirates out of the water with a 72-36 final score. The Longhorns have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 21 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Shepherd saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brayden White dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. White's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The win made it two in a row for Tarkington and bumps their season record up to 22-7. As for Shepherd, they dropped their record down to 16-14 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Hamshire-Fannett the next time they take the court. Shepherd will host Hamshire-Fannett at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Tarkington will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
