Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Michigan Lutheran Seminary

Michigan Lutheran Seminary proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 18) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Kingston, sneaking past 6-5. The win was nothing new for Michigan Lutheran Seminary as they're now sitting on three straight.

Ally Coffey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two doubles, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Michigan Lutheran Seminary got a big performance out of Kerin Gardner, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was London Retberg, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matches.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary's record now sits at 26-9. As for Kingston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.
