Baseball Recap: Cortez Comes Up Short

Cortez came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-3 to the La Joya Community Fighting Lobos.

Cortez's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15-1. As for La Joya Community, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cortez will host Yuma at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for La Joya Community, they will be playing at home against Copper Canyon at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fighting Lobos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Aztecs have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
