Softball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for Hayes

While Hayes put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Dublin Scioto. The Pacers came out on top against the Irish by a score of 5-0. The victory continues a trend for the Pacers in their matchups with the Irish: they've now won eight in a row.

Not much got past Bronwynn Leighty, who gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks to keep Dublin Scioto off the board. Leighty has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Laurel Day was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. McKenna Coleman was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Day wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Hayes lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dublin Scioto didn't launched any home runs.

Hayes' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Dublin Scioto, they moved to 8-2 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.
