Basketball Recap: Springfield Southeast Comes Up Short

Springfield Southeast played a tough matchup on Sunday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Cardinal Ritter College Prep Lions and fell 73-40. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-18.

Despite the loss, Springfield Southeast still got an impressive performance from Navehua Collier, who posted 15 points. That was a full 37.5% of the Spartans' points, marking the third time in a row Collier has had more than a third of the team's points. Zaria Weston was another key player, putting up eight points.

Springfield Southeast's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springfield Southeast will host Alton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cardinal Ritter College Prep, they will square off against Jefferson City at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
