Basketball Recap: Schaumburg Christian Takes a Loss

Schaumburg Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took an 85-69 bruising from the Taft Eagles. The Conquerors were down 70-46 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Schaumburg Christian still got an impressive performance from Lucas Bustamante, who went 8 of 12 from beyond the arc on his way to 30 points. Thanks to that strong game, Bustamante now owns an excellent 45.9% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Nathan Peterson, who posted eight points and four steals.

Schaumburg Christian's record is now 15-12. As for Taft, their win ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 10-18.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Schaumburg Christian will welcome Parkview Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Taft, they and Metea Valley will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
