Volleyball Recap: Nokomis Starts off Right with Win over Central a & M

Nokomis took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Central A & M Raiders. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Redskins also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Nokomis easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-18.

Their offense was headlined by Mackenzie Mehochko and Addison Glenn, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Kinley Stolte and her 18 assists. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Maddison Dewerff, racking up three apiece.

Central A & M's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nokomis will square off against Litchfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Central A & M, they will challenge Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
