Basketball Recap: Gentry Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Gentry had to endure a 13-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Greenville Hornets 60-58. This was a revenge game for the Rams: when they faced off against the Hornets last Tuesday, they had to take a 60-47 defeat.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marcus Peoples, who made all 6 shots he took racking up 13 points along with five boards and three blocks. Those 13 points gave Peoples a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lucas Johnson, who posted ten points and six steals.

Gentry's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 5-19. As for Greenville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Gentry nor Greenville have any future games scheduled.
