Baseball Game Preview: Bishop Snyder Cardinals vs. Suwannee Bulldogs

The Bishop Snyder Cardinals will head out on the road to take on the Suwannee Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bishop Snyder has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with four straight losses, while Suwannee will come in with four straight wins.

Bishop Snyder lost 11-1 to Cardinal Gibbons on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Suwannee owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 7-0 margin over Yulee. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

Kyler Watson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Noah Lopez was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He is becoming a predictor of Suwannee's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Koy Frier, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Suwannee hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Yulee struck out ten times.

Bishop Snyder's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Suwannee, their record is now an identical 8-5.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bishop Snyder has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Suwannee struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 strikeouts.
