Softball Recap: Hermitage Panthers vs. Deep Run Wildcats
Hermitage extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-6 in the process. They lost 15-1 to the Deep Run Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 back in March.
As for Deep Run, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. That 14 run margin sets a new team best for them this season.
For Deep Run's part, they got a big performance out of Ella Pawlewicz, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave Pawlewicz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Braelyn Baulsir, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hermitage will venture away from home to square off against Patrick Henry at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Deep Run, they will head out to take on Maggie Walker at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Maggie Walker has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.57 runs per game on average), something Deep Run will no doubt try to take advantage of.
