Softball Recap: North Stanly Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

After losing to Mount Pleasant the last time they met, North Stanly decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Comets walked away with a 6-3 win over the Tigers on Thursday.

Leah Frick was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Breauna Speight was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

North Stanly's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mount Pleasant, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.

North Stanly does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mount Pleasant, they are taking a road trip to challenge Cox Mill at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
