Baseball Recap: Davenport Has No Trouble Against Tenoroc

Davenport came into Tuesday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Tenoroc Titans 12-0 on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 31-6 on March 7th.

Jorge Covas made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for Davenport: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-11 otherwise.

In other batting news, Davenport let Will Cintron and Jacob Bishop run wild. Cintron got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Bishop scored three runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits Bishop has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Brylandd Canode, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Davenport's record is now 4-12. As for Tenoroc, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Davenport has already played their next game, a 13-0 defeat against St. Cloud on the 27th. As for Tenoroc, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 31-1 loss against Zephyrhills on the 28th.
