Baseball Recap: Milan Takes a Loss

If Milan was riding high fresh off their 12-3 takedown of Peabody on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Golden Tide by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Golden Tide earlier this season, when they won 12-3.

Kasen Yates put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Yates was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Colton Mallard and James Carter stepped up to the plate in a big way. Mallard went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Carter went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Milan's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Peabody, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Milan has already played their next match, a 7-6 win against Dyersburg on the 17th. As for Peabody, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 victory against Bradford on the 17th.
