West Valley recap September 24, 2013

El Camino Real scaled the state rankings by moving to 539 from 662 this week, the biggest jump in West Valley. The Conquistadors were able to move up by beating Van Nuys 42-7.

El Camino Real made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,571 from 9,494. The advance stemmed from a 42-7 victory over the Wolves last week.

Kevin Williams' team's dynamic duo of Adam Blythe and Andrew Fowler proved tough for Van Nuys to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Blythe threw for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns and Fowler had 74 yards receiving. Jarek Welch helped El Camino Real's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 56 yards.

The Conquistadors' dynamic duo of Blythe and Fowler proved to be unstoppable against Brent Shano's team, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Fowler was the best wideout in the league this week as El Camino Real defeated the Wolves.

Xavier Salazar was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 23 carries, he ran for 178 yards as Granada Hills defeated Van Nuys. Teammate Ramon Johnson added to the ground attack by rushing for 21 yards.

Blythe put up the best numbers through the air as El Camino Real bested the Wolves.

He was 11-22 with 0 interception.

Thanks to the talents of Johnson and Salazar, the Highlanders have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Johnson is tops in the league in passing with 594 yards, while Salazar has rushed for 681 yards this season. The Conquistadors' Welch leads the league in receiving yards with 207 on 14 catches.

El Camino Real led West Valley in scoring this week by notching 42 points on Van Nuys. Blythe ran for 11 yards during the win.
