Soccer Game Preview: Northwest vs. Keller Central

The Northwest Texans are taking a road trip to take on the Keller Central Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Northwest's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Northwest fell victim to Southlake Carroll and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Dragons, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Northwest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Southlake Carroll are ranked third).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Keller Central). Everything went their way against Bell on Friday as they made off with a 5-1 win. Keller Central have beaten Bell the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Bell has come to flipping the script.

Keller Central hit Bell with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kinsey Geasland (2), Sherica Virtue, Lilah Hernandez, and Iris Abshear.

Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 2-4-2. As for Keller Central, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3-2.

Northwest suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Keller Central when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Can the Texans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
