Softball Recap: Shasta Falls to Lassen in First Game of Season

Shasta unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Lassen Grizzlies on Tuesday, falling 12-4. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Haley Salkeld was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

Looking ahead, Shasta will be taking part in a tournament against River Valley at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Lassen, they will take on Nevada Union in a tournament on Friday.
