Football Recap: Anahuac Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Anahuac was the 53-48 winner over East Chambers when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers received a blow on Friday as they fell 35-21 to the Buccaneers. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

East Chambers' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from JD Zurby, who threw for 158 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Earius Ceasar helped Zurby out on the ground, rushing for 71 yards and one score on only eight carries.

Anahuac's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for East Chambers, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Anahuac is set to face off against their familiar foe Buna at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, East Chambers will square off against rival Coldspring-Oakhurst at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
