Basketball Game Preview: Rossville Hornets vs. Clinton Prairie Gophers

The Rossville Hornets are taking a road trip to take on the Clinton Prairie Gophers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Rossville comes in on six and Clinton Prairie on seven.

Last Saturday, Rossville strolled past Fountain Central with points to spare, taking the game 57-42. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Mustangs are ranked 425th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rossville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Thiele-Hahn, who went 6 of 12 to rack up 14 points. Thiele-Hahn is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last six games he's played. Jordan Skiles was another key player, going 5 for 11 en route to 12 points.

Meanwhile, Clinton Prairie posted their closest victory since February 3, 2024 on Thursday. They skirted past Taylor 49-47.

Rossville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points over those games. As for Clinton Prairie, their record now sits at 15-2.

Rossville came up short against Clinton Prairie in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 57-48. Can Rossville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
