Softball Game Preview: Claiborne Christian Crusaders vs. Ouachita Parish Lions

The Claiborne Christian Crusaders will head out to square off against the Ouachita Parish Lions at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Claiborne Christian not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 20th. They blew past Gibsland-Coleman 15-0. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Ouachita Parish hadn't done well against Pineville recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Rebels. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since March 17th.

Rheagan Montgomery and Taylor Madison did most of the damage at the plate: Montgomery went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Madison went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Madisyn Lenard was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Ouachita Parish hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.

Claiborne Christian's record now sits at 8-12. As for Ouachita Parish, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-14.

Claiborne Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Ouachita Parish when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 11-6. Do the Crusaders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
