Basketball Recap: Bishop Kenny's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Thursday

After losing to Sandalwood the last time they met, Bishop Kenny decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bishop Kenny Crusaders took down the Sandalwood Saints 52-36 on Thursday. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Saints are ranked 449th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sandalwood lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Wilkin Perez, who posted 12 points. Alexis James was another key player, putting up ten points.

Bishop Kenny is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Sandalwood, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.

Bishop Kenny wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 73-34 victory against Beachside on the 10th. Sandalwood has also already played their next contest, a 62-49 loss against Orange Park on the 10th.
