Softball Game Preview: Clear Fork Colts vs. River Valley Vikings

For the second straight game, Clear Fork will face off against River Valley. The Colts will take on the Vikings at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Clear Fork will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Friday, Clear Fork earned a 4-1 victory over River Valley.

Miley Shafer made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Shafer was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Shafer wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hailly Thrush, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Clear Fork's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for River Valley, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-5.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Clear Fork hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like River Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 home runs.
