Football Recap: Edison Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Edison and Hayfield pushed the score to 75-7 the last time they played Hayfield, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Eagles took a 15-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. Despite 77 more yards than the Hawks, the Eagles couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Jordan Mitchell threw for 48 yards on five of 22 attempts. On the ground, Xiekiel Gongora rushed for 88 yards.

Edison is on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5. As for Hayfield, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Edison will head out to challenge Mount Vernon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Majors have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Hayfield, they will head out on the road to take on West Potomac at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
