Baseball Recap: Wilmot Has No Trouble Against Cudahy

Wilmot had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Cudahy on Thursday. The Panthers blew past the Packers 11-0. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Chance Ruby and Jackson Price made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Ruby didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Price tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ruby has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Ruby went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Price went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nate Dzierzanowski, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Wilmot's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-17 when he doesn't). Ryan Watson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Wilmot always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Wilmot's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-17. As for Cudahy, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17.
