South Broward fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Tohopekaliga on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 7-6. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Joshua Jakubowicz was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Francisco Gomez-Haedo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Keniel Marrero was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases.

South Broward's loss dropped their record down to 7-10-1. As for Tohopekaliga, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Coming up, South Broward will venture away from home to take on Cooper City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tohopekaliga, they will head out on the road to challenge Master's Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Master's Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Tohopekaliga's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
