South Iredell benefitted from Paxton in 13-3 win
Winning always takes teamwork, but on Tuesday Layne Paxton stepped things up a notch to give South Iredell the 'W'. Paxton turned in nothing short of a gem: he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
Paxton's strong effort led South Iredell over Mooresville and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. South Iredell has some work to do to even out the 2-8 series between these two since April of 2016, but a win here would be a good start.
