Basketball Game Preview: Douglas Patriots vs. St. Thomas More Cavaliers

Douglas is 0-10 against St. Thomas More since January of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Douglas Patriots will host the St. Thomas More Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m.

Douglas might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 68-21 to Custer, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, St. Thomas More waltzed into their match on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Scoopers, sneaking past 43-40.

St. Thomas More's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Douglas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-9.
