Basketball Recap: American Heritage Takes a Loss

American Heritage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 46-25 to the Mackay Miners. The Patriots were not able to make up for their defeat to the Miners from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Kaizer Summers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mackay, going 8 for 16 en route to 22 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The contest was Summers' tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cooper Holt, who posted eight points and 11 rebounds.

American Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Mackay, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. American Heritage has already played their next matchup (against North Gem), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mackay will host Challis at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Mackay has won seven straight at home, while Challis won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
