Football Game Preview: Countryside Christian Minutemen vs. Foundation Christian Academy Panthers

The Countryside Christian Minutemen will venture away from home to face off against the Foundation Christian Academy Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Countryside Christian is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Florida's top teams: First Coast Christian, who was ranked 13th at the time (Countryside Christian was ranked 14th). The Minutemen were the clear victors by a 40-14 margin over the Knights on Friday. The Minutemen's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Countryside Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Easton Watson, who threw for 155 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 34 yards and one score. That's the most rushing yards Watson has posted since back in October of 2024. Connor Vlardingerbroek was Watson's top target, picking up 97 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Foundation Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They breezed past Riverview Academy to the tune of 58-6 on Friday. Considering the Panthers have won four games by more than 29 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Countryside Christian's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Foundation Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Everything came up roses for Countryside Christian against Foundation Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, as the team secured a 46-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Minutemen since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
