Volleyball Recap: Etowah Comes Up Short at Home Against Alpharetta

Etowah unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alpharetta Raiders on Friday. The Eagles have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-13.

Alpharetta can attribute much of their success to Kailey Leonard, who had 13 digs and three aces. Leonard has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last seven times she's played.

Coincidentally, Etowah and Alpharetta will both be playing Hillgrove the next time they take the court. The Raiders will head out to face the Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
