Basketball Preview: Seymour Indians vs. Beardstown Tigers
The Seymour Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Beardstown Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Seymour waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They secured a 46-41 W over Pittsfield.
Meanwhile, after only 22 points in their last game, Beardstown made sure to put some points up on the board against the Wildcats on Thursday. Everything went Beardstown's way against the Wildcats as the Tigers made off with a 72-52 win. Given Beardstown's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 310th, while the Wildcats are ranked 651st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Seymour has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-15 record this season. As for Beardstown, they pushed their record up to 18-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Seymour beat the Tigers 54-45 in their previous matchup back in March of 2021. Does Seymour have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
