Softball Recap: Credo Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Credo entered their tilt with Laytonville on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over the Warriors. The Gryphon have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Credo got a massive performance out of Miela Beeton, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Beeton continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Giada Saechao, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

Beeton wasn't the only one making solid contact: Credo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for the Gryphon: they were averaging 3.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.2.

Credo's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Laytonville, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Credo is set to face off against their familiar foe Willits at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Laytonville will square off against rival Potter Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
