Preview: McIntosh County Academy vs. Savannah Christian

If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Savannah Christian. On Friday they take on McIntosh County Academy at Pooler Stadium at 7:00 PM. Savannah Christian strut in flaunting some offensive muscle with an average of 38.333333333333333333333333333 points per game.

Savannah Christian might be getting used to good results now that the team have five wins in a row. Last Friday, they came out on top in a nail-biter against Calvary Day, sneaking past 24-21. Savannah Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of senior Jordan Grant, who rushed for 85 yards and 1 touchdown, and sophomore Spencer Robicheaux, who picked up 44 yards on the ground and accumulated 108 passing yards. Grant has been a consistent playmaker for Savannah Christian as this was the 5th good game in a row from him.

Meanwhile, McIntosh County Academy were the first on the board but had to settle for second at the end of their game against Savannah Country Day. McIntosh County Academy came up short against Savannah Country Day, falling 6-13. McIntosh County Academy's defeat continues a disappointing trend for the squad, making it six losses in a row.

Savannah Christian's victory lifted them to 5-1 while McIntosh County Academy's loss dropped them down to 0-6. We'll see if Savannah Christian's success rolls on or if McIntosh County Academy are able to steal their positive momentum.
