Baseball Game Preview: Wooster Generals vs. Lake Blue Streaks

The Wooster Generals will challenge the Lake Blue Streaks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Wooster is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Midview a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Generals have won 11 matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Alliance typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Lake proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Aviators. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Streaks in their matchups with the Aviators: they've now won three in a row.

Wooster has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 16-11.

Wooster couldn't quite get it done against Lake in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 as they fell 6-2. Can the Generals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
