Baseball Recap: Rice Lake Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Rice Lake had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 15-8 to the Superior Spartans. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Aaron Hoffman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Lucas Roux was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

The victory (which was Superior's third in a row) raised their record to 4-5.

Looking ahead, Rice Lake will look to defend their home field on Friday against Ashland at 1:00 p.m. As for Superior, they will host Denfeld at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
