Preview: Donegal Indians vs. Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers
Donegal is 0-10 against Lampeter-Strasburg since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Donegal Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Even though Donegal has not done well against Lancaster Catholic recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Donegal blew past Lancaster Catholic 68-47. 68 seems to be a good number for Donegal as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Lampeter-Strasburg beat Eastern Lebanon County 56-47 on Thursday.
Lampeter-Strasburg can attribute much of their success to Dean Herr, who scored 12 points along with five steals, and Chase Smucker, who scored 17 points along with four steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Yasin Abdi, who scored six points.
Donegal's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Lampeter-Strasburg, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1.
Donegal lost to Lampeter-Strasburg on the road by a decisive 69-52 margin in their previous matchup back in January. Can Donegal avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
