Soccer Game Preview: Bettendorf vs. Saint Thomas Aquinas

The Bettendorf Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Saint Thomas Aquinas Saints at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Bettendorf's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Saint Thomas Aquinas' offense will have their work cut out for them.

Bettendorf will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Saturday, then bounced right back against Davenport West on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' defense stepped up to hand the Falcons a 12-0 shutout. That 12-goal margin sets a new team best for Bettendorf this season.

Meanwhile, Saint Thomas Aquinas faced Blue Valley Northwest in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Saints came out on top in a nail-biter against the Huskies, sneaking past 1-0. The win was nothing new for Saint Thomas Aquinas as they're now sitting on six straight.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Amri Eischen, who's now up to seven this season.

Bettendorf's victory bumped their record up to 4-0-2. As for Saint Thomas Aquinas, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
