The Lincoln Trojans will take on the Wakulla War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Lincoln came up short against Liberty County on Thursday, falling 16-6.
Ella Kone made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Alli Ryan, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wakulla). They put the hurt on Wewahitchka with a sharp 16-1 victory on Monday. With that win, the War Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Aislin Hunter looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cylie Long, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Austin, who scored four runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Wakulla always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Wakulla, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Lincoln has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Wakulla struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
